God is faithful in all His promises
Keeping the faith despite the wait and the trials
There are seasons when faith is put to the test. We pray, but the answer seems slow in coming. We hope, but circumstances seem to be against us. We believe in a promise from God, but the wait grows long, sometimes painful.
In those moments, a question may rise in the heart: Has God forgotten me?
The Bible gives us a clear answer: no. God never forgets what He has promised. He is faithful, even when the wait is long. He is faithful, even when the trial intensifies. He is faithful, even when we do not yet understand what He is doing.
God never lies
Our hope does not rest on our emotions, nor on circumstances, but on the character of God.
The Bible says in Numbers 23:19: “God is not a man, that He should lie, nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do it?”
What assurance for the believer. Man may promise and then forget. Man may want but be unable. Man may change. But God remains faithful.
When God speaks, His word does not lose its value over time. When God promises, His plan stands firm, even if everything around us seems to be delayed.
Delay is not abandonment
Many people do not necessarily doubt God’s power, but they are troubled by the delay. Why is it taking so long? Why is the answer delayed? Why does the promise seem so far away?
The Bible says in Habakkuk 2:3: “Though it tarry, wait for it; for it will surely come, it will surely come.”
This word is precious. It reminds us that apparent delay is not God’s failure. God’s silence is not His absence. Waiting is not the death of the promise.
God often works behind the scenes before acting in public. He is preparing what we cannot yet see.
Abraham: Waiting Without Ceasing to Believe
Abraham is one of the great biblical examples of God’s faithfulness. The Lord had promised him a son. Yet, from a human perspective, everything seemed impossible: he was growing old, time was passing, and the promise was delayed.
But God had not forgotten. At the appointed time, Isaac was born.
The story of Abraham shows us that what God promises may be delayed, but it cannot fail. When God has spoken, neither age, nor weakness, nor impossibility can override His will.
This is a truth that strengthens faith: even if your situation seems stuck, God remains able to fulfill what He has said.
Joseph: God acts even in the midst of trials
Joseph had received a dream from God. Yet, after this promise, he experienced the pit, slavery, false accusation, and prison.
From the outside, everything seemed to be going wrong. But in reality, God was leading Joseph toward the fulfillment of His word.
It is often like this in our lives. We sometimes think that if God has spoken to us, everything will immediately become simple. Yet the Bible shows that we can be in God’s plan while going through a difficult season.
Trial does not nullify the promise. The struggle does not erase the word received. The time of preparation is also part of God’s plan.
David: Anointing Does Not Preclude the Desert
David was anointed by Samuel, but he did not immediately ascend to the throne. He experienced waiting, flight, opposition, and the wilderness.
Why does God act this way? Because He often prepares His servants before establishing them.
David learned to wait for God’s timing. He did not try to force what God was meant to give him. And finally, the Lord exalted him.
This story teaches us an important lesson: what God has planned for you will come at the right time. We must neither lose heart nor rush ahead. We must learn to trust God throughout the process.
Remembering past miracles
When hard times come, one of the greatest dangers is forgetfulness. We quickly forget what God has already done when the pain of the present becomes overwhelming.
Yet the Bible regularly calls us to remember. David, facing Goliath, remembered that God had already delivered him from the lion and the bear. Past victories fueled his faith for the present battle.
This is also an encouragement for us today. When you are going through a trial, remember:
prayers already answered,
doors already opened,
dangers from which God has protected you,
seasons when His hand has sustained you.
The God who rescued you yesterday is still able to do so today.
Even when everything seems at a standstill, God is at work
Sometimes we don’t understand the Lord’s timing. Yet God is never late. He acts according to His own schedule, with wisdom and precision.
In John 11, Jesus delays before going to Lazarus. From a human perspective, this looks like a painful delay. But this delay was not an oversight: He was preparing a greater manifestation of God’s glory.
What we sometimes call a delay can be, in God’s hands, an invisible preparation. God is working on our faith, our character, and our dependence on Him. And when His time comes, no one can prevent the fulfillment of what He has decided.
Jesus Christ: the ultimate proof of God’s faithfulness
The greatest proof of God’s faithfulness is found in Jesus Christ. Even the cross, which seemed like a defeat, was part of the divine plan. And on the third day, Jesus rose again.
This reminds us of an essential truth: God always has the last word.
The night is not eternal. The trial is not the end of the story. The grave does not have the final say over those who belong to the Lord.
In Christ, we learn that God is faithful to the very end, even when everything seems dark for a time.
How can we keep the faith while we wait?
When fulfillment is delayed, it’s important to stay connected to God. Here are some simple guidelines:
1. Believe God’s Word
Don’t let circumstances speak louder than biblical truth.
2. Keep praying
Even when you’re tired, keep that connection with the Lord alive.
3. Resist discouragement
Discouragement wants to make you give up before the breakthrough.
4. Remember God’s Goodness
Past testimonies strengthen your present faith.
5. Wait with Confidence
God does not forget. What He has said, He will fulfill.
Conclusion: God never forgets
Perhaps you are going through a season of waiting right now. Perhaps you have received a word from God, but its fulfillment seems delayed. Perhaps you are tired, tested, or tempted to doubt.
So hold on to this truth: God is faithful in all His promises.
He has not forgotten your name. He has not forgotten your prayer. He has not forgotten the word He placed in your heart.
Even if the wait drags on, even if tears still flow, even if circumstances seem against you, God’s plan will always be fulfilled.
Keep the faith. Remember His goodness. And continue to hope in Him.
For God never forgets.
Closing Prayer
Lord, thank You because You are faithful in all Your promises.
When our faith is weak, strengthen us.
When the wait is long, give us patience.
When bad days come, remind us of Your past miracles.
Help us to remain steadfast in faith, until Your word is fulfilled.
In the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
