Statement of Faith

The truths that ground our journey

The Statement of Faith of the Timnath-Serah Evangelical Mission constitutes the doctrinal foundation upon which our teaching, practice, and spiritual commitment rest. These biblical truths are neither human traditions nor personal opinions. They are drawn from the Holy Scriptures, inspired by God, and received as the unshakable of our faith.

1. The Holy Scriptures – Our Supreme Authority

We believe that the Old and New Testaments are entirely inspired by God. The Bible is the perfect revelation of His will for humanity and constitutes our sole rule of faith and conduct.

“All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness.” - 2 Timothy 3:15–16

2. The Adorable God – The Eternal Trinity

We believe in one living and true God, existing eternally in three distinct persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. He is the sovereign Creator of heaven and earth and the glorious Redeemer of humanity.

“Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord.” - Deuteronomy 6:4

3. The Lord Jesus Christ – The Eternal Son of God

We believe that Jesus Christ is the only Savior of humanity. The Scriptures gloriously testify to:

• His virgin birth, conceived by the Holy Spirit (Matthew 1:20)

• His perfect and sinless life (Hebrews 7:26; 1 Peter 2:22)

• His powerful miracles, manifesting the glory of God (Acts 2:22)

• His substitute death on the cross, bearing our sins (1 Corinthians 15:3)

• His bodily resurrection, victory over death (1 Corinthians 15:4)

• His ascension to the right hand of the Father (Hebrews 1:3)

• His glorious return for His Church (1 Thessalonians 4:15–17)

4. The Holy Spirit – Our Comforter and Sanctifier

We believe in baptism in the Holy Spirit and in His sanctifying power, enabling the believer to live a holy, victorious, and fruitful life. The Holy Spirit equips, guides, comforts, and transforms the believer into the image of Christ.

“You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. ” - Acts 1:8

5. The Fall of Man – A Universal Need for Redemption

We believe that man was created good and upright, in the image of God. However, through willful transgression, he fell, exposing himself to physical and spiritual death.

“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” – Romans 3:23

6. The Salvation of Man – Through the Blood of Jesus Alone

We believe that salvation is a free gift of God’s grace, received solely through faith in Jesus Christ. There is no other name under heaven by which man can be saved.

7. The Church and Its Mission – The Body of Christ

We believe that the Church is the Body of Christ, the dwelling place of God through the Spirit.

Every born-again believer is a member of this glorious Assembly, called to proclaim the Gospel to the ends of the earth.

8. The Priesthood of Believers – Direct Access to the Father

We believe that every believer is a royal priest, having direct access to the throne of grace through Jesus Christ.

“You are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation.” – 1 Peter 2:9

9. The Ordinances of the Church

We faithfully practice the two ordinances instituted by Christ:

• Water baptism by immersion, reserved for repentant believers (Matthew 28:19)

• The Lord’s Supper, in remembrance of Christ’s sacrifice (1 Corinthians 11:23–26)

10. The Blessed Hope – The Return of Christ

We joyfully await the glorious return of our Lord Jesus Christ, the resurrection of the dead in Christ, and the rapture of the Church.

“We are waiting for the blessed hope…” – Titus 2:13

11. The Last Judgment

We believe in the Last Judgment, where all people will be judged according to their works, and where God’s perfect justice will be fulfilled. Revelation 20:12

12. A New Heaven and a New Earth

We believe in the final fulfillment of God’s promise: a new heaven and a new earth, where righteousness will dwell forever. Revelation 21:1

13. Tithes and Offerings

We believe in the biblical principle of tithing as an expression of gratitude and faithfulness to God. Offerings and vows of faith are spiritual seeds sown with confidence in His faithfulness.

14. Praise and Worship

We believe that praise and worship are essential expressions of the Christian life.

“Let everything that has breath praise the Lord!” - Psalm 150

Building on the Rock

These truths are not merely theoretical doctrines.

They are the living foundation of our faith, the compass of our ministry, and the source of our hope.
